Remind Me (Talking Reminders) is an Android app made by BlackHawk Studios ("we", "us", "our"). This page explains, in plain language, what information the app collects, where it's kept, and why the app asks for the permissions it does. If you have questions, email us at support@remindme.website.
The short version:
Everything about your reminders stays on your device:
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete a reminder or uninstall the app, it's gone for good — we never had a copy to begin with.
To let you sign in and manage your subscription, we keep a basic account record that includes:
If you choose to sign in with Google instead of an email/password, Google shares your name, email address, and account picture with us so we can set up your account.
Subscriptions are purchased and billed through Google Play, using the payment method you already have on file with Google. We never see or store your card details — Google handles that entirely, and only tells us whether your subscription is active, which is the same status mentioned in Section 2.2.
If something in the app breaks or crashes, a technical report is sent to us automatically — things like your device model, Android version, and what the app was doing at the time. This helps us fix bugs faster. These reports never include your reminders or account password.
Remind Me's whole job is to speak your reminder out loud at the exact moment you chose — even if your phone is locked, idle, or was just restarted. Almost every permission below exists to make that happen reliably, not to gather information about you.
| Permission | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Alarms & reminders | Fire your reminder at the exact minute you picked, not just "around" that time. |
| Run at startup | Re-arm your reminders after your phone restarts, so a restart doesn't silently cancel them. |
| Run in the background | Keep the alarm playing and speaking reliably without the phone shutting it off mid-reminder. |
| Notifications | Show your reminder alert and, when needed, the full-screen ringing alarm. |
| Show on lock screen | Display the ringing alarm over your lock screen, like a normal alarm clock. |
| Keep device awake | Wake your phone up so it can play the reminder even if it was asleep. |
| Vibration | Vibrate the phone along with the alarm sound. |
| Audio settings | Briefly adjust the volume so the spoken reminder is actually audible. |
| Bluetooth | Play the reminder correctly if you're connected to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. |
| Do Not Disturb access | Let the alarm sound through Do Not Disturb, the same way your phone's built-in alarm does. |
| Ignore battery optimization | Optional — lets you exempt the app from aggressive battery-saving so reminders aren't delayed. |
| Internet access | Used for signing in and checking your subscription. Setting and playing reminders works fully offline. |
| Microphone | Listed because of the audio system the app uses to speak your reminders — the app never turns on your microphone or records anything. |
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run parts of the app — for example, to store your account securely, to process subscription payments through Google Play, and to receive crash reports when something goes wrong. These providers only receive the specific information described above (like your email or a crash log) — never your reminders — and they're only allowed to use it to provide their service to us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
We don't use your information for targeted advertising, and we don't build an advertising profile from how you use the app.
Your reminders live only on your phone — deleting a reminder, or uninstalling the app, removes it immediately and permanently.
We keep your account information (email, subscription status) for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and the information tied to it, email support@remindme.website from the address on your account, and we'll take care of it within a reasonable time.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections, to protect your account information. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
Remind Me's content is suitable for a general audience, including children. We treat every account the same regardless of who's using it — we don't collect anything beyond the account information described in Section 2, and we don't ask for or collect anyone's age. Because using the app does require setting up an account, we recommend that a parent or guardian create and manage the account for a young child, rather than the child doing so alone. If you believe your child set up an account without your involvement and you'd like it removed, contact us and we'll delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.
